Methos and Nikki's Valentines Day (completed)
« on: February 14, 2012, 11:26:41 am »

****Between 4:30 and 5:00 PM on February 14, 2012****

Methos parks his SUV in front of his house, gets out and locks the car. Then he goes down the small row of stairs that lead to his house, just as he's about to get to the front door, he notices a small package. He stops looking down at it with a puzzled frown wondering what was inside.

Methos: And what do we have here?

Methos asks to no one is particular as he bends down to pick it up. He notices how light it is as he picks it up. Then he opens the front door and goes to the kitchen, not before stumbling on one of the unopened boxes he still has in there.

Methos: You should take care of that, old man. Getting sloppy, aren't we?

Methos murmurs to himself as he puts the box on the kitchen counter to open it. He frowns when he sees what's inside only two sheets of paper and nothing else. He picks them up even more puzzled than before and starts to read them.

The first page says,
"Longer than there've been fishes in the ocean.
Higher than any bird ever flew.
Longer than there've been stars up in the heavens
I've been in love with you.
Stronger than any mountain cathedral.
Truer than any tree ever grew.
Deeper than any forest primeval
I am in love with you.
I'll bring fire in the winters.
You'll send showers in the springs.
We'll fly through the falls and summers
With love on our wings.
Through the years as the fire starts to mellow
Burning lines in the book of our lives.
Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow
I'll be in love with you
....From your Valentine."

Methos raises an eyebrow, too surprised to think about anything in particular and moves to the second page.

The second page says, "Go to the liquor store at 1230 S. 42nd Street. The sales clerk has something for you.....I love you."

Methos: Let's hope this is another one of Nikki's surprises.

Methos murmurs as he puts the papers inside his pocket and moves to the door, wondering what he'd do if he came face to face with another woman.  He gets in his car and drives all the way 42nd Street. He finds the liquor store that was mentioned on the paper and walks in to talk to the clerk.

Methos: Excuse me, the name is Pierson, Adam Pierson. I think you have something for me?

The sales clerk hands him an envelope and a package. Inside the envelope is a note that says, "You follow directions very well for a man. Now go to the gas station at 27th and Causton. The attendant has something for you....I still love you."

Methos: Oh no.

Methos murmurs as he reads the note. A treasure hunt at this hour? He thinks to himself as he walks back to his car. He drives to the gas station mentioned on the note, hoping it was the last place he had to go.  He pulls at the gas station, before he exits the car, he gets too curious about what's inside the package and figures he has time to take a look at it.

Methos gasps in surprise when he sees his coat of arms, he frowns looking at it for a while, wondering how Nikki found out about it, assuming it was Nikki who was doing this of course.  He gestures the gas station attendant and asks him if he has anything for him mentioning his name.

The attendant hands him another envelope and a large package. The contents of the envelope says, "I am so proud of you. You are doing so well. Now go to the barber shop at 2309 W. Allessandro Avenue and the barber will have something for you....and I still love you."

Methos: Oh great.

Methos grumbles as he is redirected to yet another location. He decides to open the package right away though, instead of wondering what was inside on the way there like he did before.

Methos sees it's some leather coat but is in a hurry to go to the next place, so he decides to take a better look later and starts his car to drive to the barber shop.

The barber hands him a small package and another envelope. The contents of the envelope says, "I love you for playing along. Now go to the Queen of Spades 2, and when you get on board come see the Mater D and he'll show you where to come. Happy Valentines Day, my love."

Methos: Well, at least I can get a drink there.

Methos murmurs as he reads the note, remembering it was what he was planning to do before he got home. He wonders what's inside this package, so far he got two different things.

Methos: An antique pocket watch?

Methos asks in surprise, wondering what was that for, it's not like he could really use it now without raising some eyebrows. He starts the car and drives to the Queen of Spades. He waits at the dock for a while until the casino boat docks, then goes looking for the Mater D like it was mentioned on the note.

The Mater D tells Methos to follow him and he leads him up to the top deck of the river boat, to one of the private dinning rooms then excuses himself and disappears.

Methos feels the buzz of another Immortal and frowns when the Mater D leaves him by one of the private room doors without any explanation. He looks at his retiring back for a moment, before he shrugs and walks in the door. He looks around at the empty room noticing the table is set for two as his eyes wander through the compartment.

Nikki steps out from behind the partition that masks the view of the serving counter.

Nikki: Happy Valentine's Day.

Nikki says in a sweet but sultry voice. She walks over to the table and pours champagne into their glasses from the bottle chilling in the ice bucket next to the table.

Methos gets one of the champagne glasses and toasts back with a smile.

Methos: Happy Valentine's day.

Nikki clinks the edge of her glass against Methos' and takes a sip then leans over and kisses him, lovingly. She straightens up and sits down in the chair across the table from him as the waiter brings a tray, which he sets on a stand by the table, with Chateau Breand for two and two serving dishes...one with asparagus in Hollandaise sauce and the other with Augraten potatoes...then he disappears.

Nikki: Thank you.

Nikki says with a smile and she takes another sip of her champagne before setting her glass aside so she can eat.

Methos: Nice dress by the way.

Methos says after he sits in front of Nikki, extending his arm to get something to eat.

Methos: And why are you thanking me?

Nikki: For playing along.

Nikki says with a mischievous smile.

Methos asks raising an eyebrow at her.

Nikki: And thanks for the compliment.

Nikki adds.

Methos: Oh you think the playing has ended? It has just began.

Methos comments with a mischievous smile, thinking about after dinner plans.

Nikki quirks an eyebrow questioningly.

Nikki: And just what do you have in mind, sir?

Methos: For starters...

Methos gets up to go to his raincoat, remembering he had something in there for her.

Methos: I was planning to give you something and guess what? it matches your dress.

Methos says with a smile as he extends a jewelry case at her.

Nikki 's cheeks blush and she smiles as she picks up the box and opens it.

Nikki: Oh, Methos! It's incredible!

Nikki exclaims, totally surprised and overwhelmed.

Nikki: I don't know what to say. It's gorgeous. Thank you.

Nikki says and lifts the necklace out of the box and lays it against her throat. She fumbles with the clasp as she tries to put it on.

Methos:Need some help with that?

Methos asks after watching her efforts in amusement for a while.

Nikki: Sure.

Nikki says with a smile.

Methos gets back on his feet, goes around the table and helps her with the clasp. When he's done, he bends and lightly kisses her bare shoulder before he gets back to his chair.

Nikki: It's beautiful. Thank you.

Nikki says still a bit overwhelmed with surprise. She hadn't expected him to even remember what day it was...let alone actually get her anything.

Methos:Oh and thank you for the treasure hunt, I loved the surprise.

Methos says picking up his champagne glass and toasting at her.
To be continued
