Game & Message Board Rules - Section I:
1. You (not your character, the typist) must be at LEAST 18 years old to join the game. We make very few exceptions (meaning none) to this rule. Also, when you join, please send a message to the manager telling which character you would like to be, if you plan to be a cannon character (character which appeared in any of the movies, or either of the series). NO DOUBLES!! Once we have a character, you CANNOT choose to be that person. Check through the profiles to see which characters we do have.
2. Once your character has been accepted and the profile posted it is up to the player to create a story line to introduce the player's character.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Profile Rules - Section II:
1. Everyone in the community MUST have a profile. This is strictly a Role Play participation game. The current characters include immortals, mortals, and watchers. Once you have decided on your character, write up a brief bio (unless you want a Cannon) and email it to the game room moderator for approval. You will be contacted by email to let you know if your character has been approved. If you are interested in "trying out" for a Cannon character, send the moderator an email briefly explaining why you are interested in that particular character and what you think you can bring to the part. You will be contacted by email with the date and time of your "audition"
***When you recieve your appointment, RSVP to confirm. Do not be late for your appointment (will be held in an off site chat room). The "audition" will consist of the moderator (and maybe a player) setting up a simple scenario that you will role play. The moderator will not be looking for spelling or taking post mistakes into consideration. What she will be looking for is how well you know the character you want to play and how convincing you play it. (even though we don't perform to a live audience, we still want characters to be convincing. It makes it more fun that way,). You will then be contacted by email to inform you of the moderator's decision.***
2. At the time of your character's approval you will be sent a Character Profile Template (if your character is an original *made-up*) and a Membership agreement and given the password for the RPG Board. Complete the Profile (answer each question.)* and fill in the blank spaces in the Membership Agreement. Go to the Paul for Bond boards and, using your password, enter the RPG board. Find the Membership Agreement thread and post you completed Agreement there.
3. Original characters must have a picture of a REAL PERSON (attach this to your completed Profile and email
them together to the Moderator). Pictures can be of either an actor or actress, singer, self picture, or well
known model. Also, do not choose a picture with writing, or any other graphics on it (boarders or frames are okay, just no names, advertisements, titles, URLs, etc).
4. If you take on a character that is another character's mentor, parent, student, or has had an influence in
another character's life, find a way to assimilate them into your profile, even if it is a short entry. Look through the other profiles and see if this fits your character's description. If you're a cannon character walking into this situation, best of luck to you (you'll probably figure out what to do anyway).
5. After being accepted to the game, you have a week (seven days, and don't give me that ten day work week excuse) from the date of acceptance to post your Membership Agreement on the board and email your completed Profile and picture to the Moderator. After the week has expired, and you have not sent in a profile and posted your Agreement (or at least contacted the Moderator or Board Administrator and set up another time) you will be deleted.
6. If you decide to take on a cannon character (this is not offered to those who are using original characters), you won't need to worry about the Profile and picture (unless it's a Cannon character not already listed) but you will need to post your Agreement within seven (7) days. It is strongly suggested that you also research the Profiles thread and familierize yourself with the other characters (besides the ones directly linked to your character) because you never know when you might run into them. If you have any problems with the cannon charachters pre-made profile (ie: don't get along with the Immortal listed as you mentor or one of the listed friends, or a part of the History section) inform the moderator after you have been accepted and before you post your Membership Agreement. (Very few things are etched in stone and in most cases something can be worked out.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Character Rules - Section IV:
1. Your character can be an immortal, mortal, or watcher.
2. The youngest age for a person to become an immortal is 12, the oldest age is 50. Your character should not be older than 5,000 years old.
3. Characters can participate in the Game as a good, evil, or neutral immortal, or a non-participant. Don't all
pick the same type, it can get boring. Your status can change, if you would like to go from evil to good, or vice
versa, you're more than welcome to do so, just provide a good reason.
4. If you choose a cannon character with little to no background information, you're allowed to make something up, just make sure that the little information that is available on them, goes into the profile (both original information from the profiles of others, and cannon information). Certain Cannon Characters are linked to the original characters of people in the game. Upon taking on a Cannon Character, the owner(s) of the site will give you links to general information on the character, as well as member profiles that mention whichever Cannon Character you have decided to choose.
5. You can have more than one active (playing) character IF and only if the site remains small.
6. If your character dies (is beheaded for an immortal, normal death for mortals), then he/she CANNOT come back. You do not have to leave the game, make a new one.
7. No copying the ideas of other members! It's not flattery, it's infringement on rights, and will be deleted.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Termination of Membership - Section V
1. Your character will be consider "active" from the day your Membership Agreementis accepted and posted until the day you terminate your membership (or are terminated) regardless of attendance, unless you have been absent and out of contact with an other member for longer than 2 weeks. Then your character will be put in limbo (sent on a hiatus of sorts) as attempts are made to contact you, After another 2 week period your character will be listed as available and your membership terminated. So, please, if you see that you are becoming less and less active, especially if you are playing a Cannon character, consider relinquishing your character so that someone able to keep it active may play it. (it really messes up story lines otherwise).
2. If a problem between yourself, and another member is reported, it will be looked into. It would help if you
could supply any evidence that supports your claim. If it is found to be true, then you will be promptly banned.
3. Banning: As lenient as we are here you can get "banned". The reasons are the obvious ones. Abusive actions toward other players, disregarding rules on a continuous basis, lack of respect for other players, moderators, and the entire Paul for Bond site, and any actions outside the game that hurt other players or reflect badly on the Paul for Bond site or the game community. In most cases a player will get a couple of warnings before the decision to take more serious action is brought up to Administration, but once banned and membership is terminated....you're done. We don't need to spend countless hours giving out warning after warning to deaf ears.
4. Once you are banned, you are not allowed near the site affiliated room, you have no member priviledges, and you are not allowed to view, borrow, or participate in anything that happens on the site, or in the game.
5. Whether you leave voluntarily, are asked to leave, or are banned, anything that you have contributed will be deleted upon your expulsion. We don't want to sponge off of your material, we're creative enough to make our own.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
