Personality: Outgoing, happy go lucky, yet, he can be philosophical and serious when the situation calls for it.  He is confident with a boyish humility.  He is goal oriented and focused when it comes to going after those goals.  He is respectful of his elders and to all females...no matter their age or station.  He is athletic and played on his high school soccer team all four years.  He loves horses and has been around them and riding since he was a toddler.  He has 3 first place trophies for the Grand National Steeplechase.

History:  Brandon was born and raised in Ashfort, Ireland on a small but profitable farm.  When he was five years old his father, Erin Cavanagh, won a thoroughbred mare in a poker game.  When Erin brought the mare home, Brandon fell in love with her and named the sorrel mare, Eirean after a fairy in one of his favorite children's stories.  It was on the third time Brandon rode Eirean when they made a discovery about the horse.  Brandon had gotten her into a full gallop in the sheep pasture but when he began to approach the four foot rock wall that separated the Cavanagh's sheep pasture from their neighbor's and he pulled back on the reins, Eirean got control of the bit on her mouth and no matter how hard Brandon pulled back on the reins, the mare would not stop.  Instead she soared over the wall...much to Brandon and his onlooking parent's surprise.  Brandon hung on until Eirean landed on the other side of the wall, then he was jolted out of the saddle and landed, face down, in the neighbor's blackberry bushes. But in those few seconds that he was soaring over the wall on the mare's back, he discovered what he thought was heaven.  He made up his mind that he was going to learn to ride the jumper so they could fly over every wall, fence, log and stream in the county.

When Brandon was 12, he rode in his first steeplechase  He and Eirean's replacement, Liath Saoirse (Gaelic for Silver Freedom), a dapple gray Kinskey gelding took third.  They continued to ride in as many steeplechases as they could enter and when Brandon was 14 he and his Kinskey qualified for their first Grand National Steeplechase in Aintree, England.  They took second that year but they took first the following year.

Oir Strioc (Golden Streak), a Palomino colored half Thoroughbred and half Arabian gelding, replaced Brandon's Kinskey after Liath Saoirse began to show signs of arthritis setting into his joints when Brandon was 16 and he and his golden colored jumper took first place in the next two Grand Nationals.

After his first place win when he was 17, Brandon was invited to be on the Olympic Steeplechase team for the United Kingdom and he was ready to go when their plow tractor fell off of its blocks when Erin was working on it and crushed him.  There was no way that Brandon could leave his mother to tend to the farm all by herself so he declined the Olympic invitation and stayed home to work the farm.  Four months later, Shiobhan Cavanagh, Brandon's mother, who had been pregnant at the time of her husband's accident, had a miscarriage, which was caused from the over work and emotional upheaval, and she began to hemorrhage  The doctors were unable to stop it and Shiobhan joined her husband in the Afterlife.  In order to pay the bills that had accumulated, Brandon had to sell the farm.  He managed to live off what was left until he landed a job working for The Smaragaid Parthas Ranch in Raheen, Ireland, 121 miles away.
