Little is known of his beginnings, but what is known, was a struggle to find.

He killed his first immortal in 3000 B.C., then began wandering, trying to figure out what he was.  In 1200 B.C. he met Helen of Troy.  In 1000 B.C., he became one of the Four Horsemen along with other immortals Kronos, Silas, and Caspian. They burned, ****, and murdered across two continents, until around 1 A.D..  During an early villiage raid, he met Cassandra, and it is because of her, that he had a change of heart, and became less evil.

Though he was still with the Horsemen, he traveled the world, meeting many influential people.  He met Socrates in 470 B.C.  They became close friends, and remained so until 399 B. C.  Though they still remained friends, Methos decided to see more of the world.

He traveled to China in 372 B.C., and met Mencius.  He stayed there for a few years, but began traveling with the Horsemen again.  They ended up meeting more people along the way, including Julius Ceaser, as well as Cleopatra.

While in Rome at around 1 A.D., the Four Horsemen disbanded, and Methos went out on his own.  He was able to witness the persecutions of the Roman people, as well as the eventual fall of Rome.  Afterward, he traveled to Ireland, China, and Germany where in 1435, he began to study medicine.

He wasn't seen again until the early 1800's, which turned out to be a particularly interesting time for Methos, who was now known as Dr. Benjamin Adams.  He traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1808, where he met and had an affair with a woman who later died as a result of the afair.  He dropped out of sight again, until 1816 when he was reported to have been in Switzerland, in the company of Lord Gordon Byron.  It is believed that these two men were responsible for inspiring Mary Shelly to write her well known novel, Frankenstien.  He eventually made his way to the United States, where he was seen riding with Butch Cassidy in 1895.

He kept a low profile until the late 1980's, when he became a Watcher under the name Adam Pierson, was hunted by Kalas, eventually introduced himself to Duncan Macleod, and had his life disrupted by the re-emergence of his "brothers." After settling those matters, he was able to settle down, and enjoy the semi-quiet life.  In 1996, he met a woman named Alexa Bond.  The two fell in love, and Methos took her on a whirlwind trip of the world.  Knowing that Alexa was terminally ill, he wanted to make their time together as special as it possibly could have been.  The two were married in a private ceremony in Arizona, then traveled to Egypt.  As Alexa's condition worsened, Methos frantically began searching for a way to extend their time together.  He read all he could, and stumbled upon the legend of the Methusela Stone.  He was able to find several pieces of it, but was never able to complete it. He decided not to waste anymore time looking for the stone, and went back to Alexa.  The couple traveled to Sweden, where they were able to spend a few short weeks together before Alexa died.  Heartbroken, Methos brought Alexa's body to Seacouver, burried her, then began traveling once more.

In 1999, he met a young man named Davey Wyle.  He saw that Davey was a good person, and took him on as a student, showing him the proper way to use a sword, as well as teaching him the rules of the Game.  The two spent a great deal of time together, and grew to trust each other, but Methos did not let him know that he was anyone other than Adam Pierson.  He continued to teach Davey for another three years, before he decided that he decided that Davey could take care of himself.  However; they remained good friends.

In the later part of 1999 he moved to Seacouver, Washington where he hung out with his old friend Joe Dawson.  He met Nicayla Flynn then and became good friends with her.
In 2005 his Watcher friend, Peggy Oaks (Nicayla's Watcher) was killed when she was discovered in the shadows by an Immortal who had challenged Nicayla.  Nikki was riddled with guilt and ready to give up her life in Seacouver and leave her friends and go on a self destruct mission but Methos (with Joe's help) helped her work through her guilt so she would stick around. He has been living in Seacouver ever since.
